The Second Annual Hack.UVA February 28— March 1, 2015

What is Hack.UVA?

A 24-hour programming event held from February 28th - March 1st where you, along with other developers, designers, and entrepreneurs work together to create a web or mobile application/platform from scratch. Prizes will be awarded to the top hacks. There is no entrance fee, all meals are free, and we will help you out with transportation. Get over here!

When can I register?

Today! Registration is now open!

Can I come even if I’m inexperienced?

Hack.UVA is a great opportunity for new hackers. There will be tech talks and personal support from mentors at the event.

Travel reimbursement?

We will be reimbursing in full up to $50 for all hackers. Please bring all original receipts to registration!

How big can my team be?

Between 3 and 7 feet tall. But seriously, you may work in a team with up to four people.

What should I bring?

Bring your laptop, phone, and chargers!

How does judging work?

The judges will evaluate your hack based off creativity, polish, and technical vigor. Succeed in all three categories, and you're bound to win!


Saturday, February 28th
  • 9 a.m. - Registration opens (3rd floor Newcomb Hall)
  • 10 a.m. - Kickoff notes
  • 11 a.m. - Group formation
  • 11:30 a.m. - Hacking begins!
  • (Tech talks and food distro TBA)
Sunday, March 1st
  • 12 a.m. - Midnight Snack
  • 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast
  • 11:30 a.m. - Hacking ends!
  • 12 p.m. - Demos begin
  • 1:30 p.m. - Final round demos
